One day he simply woke up to find that his parents, servants, and just about everyone he knew had forgotten he was a Lord, or who he was in general. All official records of his birth are also missing. |
Helena and Jonathan always seemed to have a cloud over them. It rained on their wedding, the moment they came home their roof began to leak, and Helena seemed to become ill shortly after. Many said that it was thought she would never conceive, and over time the couple themselves began to lose hope. In a way, Jude was a miracle. The pregnancy was a great surprise to begin with, causing a stir among the household. Not to mention the series of misfortunes that befell Helena during the pregnancy, which included everything from nasty falls, being hit in the stomach by stray birds, and being cursed by gypsies several times. But, right on time, a baby boy was born in perfect health. With red hair and bright eyes, it seemed that the cloud that had been over the noble house for so long might finally be lifting. Jude continued to be a normal, sweet, perfect child, after all. None of the bad luck that had plagued his parents ever seemed to touch him. The first friend he ever remembers and always remembers is Astor. Then came Savas, and then it was just the three of them, always. Savas and Jude were the normal boys, hurtling outside, chasing the ducks in the pond and pretending to be knights and dragons. Astor was always more quiet, reserved, the one who sat back and complained. But Jude never minded his cousin, and never minded Savas. But things changed. One day, no one remembered the two young lords. Their parents were alarmed to find strangers in their homes, and despite the pleas of the boys they decided to simply kick them out. Out in the world for the first time on their own, Savas and Jude decided to do what anyone would- run away to become pirates. Oh, Astor can come too. |
Jude was born an average boy. Always running around as a child, climbing trees and mock fighting with whoever would put up with him. And he grew up into a rather charming boy, in his own way. He's fairly idealistic, as his parents were rather over-protective and rarely let him leave their sight, even as he grew into a young man. He always did have a penchant for getting into trouble, even when it wasn't his own fault. This was mostly caused by Jude's habit to take the blame for other people, which is something he seems to do almost on instinct. He was still loves a bit of mischief, still a boy not completely grown up. The boy's a bit clumsy, with his head in the clouds more often than not with a naive way of looking at the world. Jude has a penchant for selflessness, and will almost always go the extra mile to help someone in need, even if he doesn't know them. Though some people (read: Astor) would call this stupid, Jude really believes it is the right thing to do. Helping people is just something you do, right? |
A red-headed, gangly boy, Jude isn't yet completely comfortable in his own skin. He has a few moments of awkward grace, but that's usually quickly followed by a long trip down the nearest flight of stairs. He also wears a black eye-patch over one eye, just because he thinks it looks cool. His visible eye is a dark brownish-green colors, and most people assume it is the same with the other. |
